Elk in Utah are smart enough to know when they are safe. On this LE unit there are roads all over where the elk summer/winter and are very approachable. IN a few weeks when the antlers get hard, the bulls go 'undercover'. This bull is 100% as wild and as wary as ANY bull in Montana or elsewhere come hunting season. He didn't get this big on PUBLIC land by being dumb. He has no need to flee and waste energy in July, because he knows he is safe, this allows larger antlers to grow. Maybe the elk in Montana are worried about poachers so they are less visible during non-hunting times than the elk in Utah. Just a thought. :-$ lol

I actually hope he runs like hell and finds a place to hide during the hunting season. He needs to make it a few more years see how big he can actually get. Appears to be young to me.

Thats funny,I saw a big bull two weekends ago and I couldnt even get the camera out before he was a dust cloud going over the ridge, our bulls that live outside the park dont ever get this stupid.

'Our' bulls are smart enough to know when hunting season is on. This bull has made it several years w/o getting killed, he must not be as dumb as you think. :-k There is a bull on the LE unit I have an archery tag for that I have seen for 4 years straight. He is easy to locate pre-season, but he has 'out-smarted' me and my hunters every September. One archer had a shot but got over excited and put an arrow right through his antlers, all on video (Incredibulls and Bucks II by BearsEars). I hope to find him early in the hunt before he crawls into his well hidden cave. I would take 'my' bull over the 'spider bull' in a heart beat. Maybe Callofthewild can let the air out of him. That would be AWESOME!

Maybe Nonya, but hope "Joe Blow" gets him. Unlikely though I agree.

Thanks for the video link. Just cause the video is so good, doesn't mean they aren't wild though. Great stuff. :thumb

Id love to see some local with just enough gas money to hunt get him but the way those outfits run things down there Id put my money on daddy war bucks with his bought and paid for tag and 25 guides keeping an eye on "his" bull all summer.SAD #-o

I don't think this bull will get shot till the snow pushes him out of his summer grounds, because where he's at right now he's pretty safe.
