Congrats to buckmaster and son on two nice extended 4 point bucks. I've never ventured up on the front during the extended but you post a good arguement for why I should be hiking those mountians. :thumb

Ok, Ok, here's the summarized version of the story :)

I stalked this buck the first time and got to about 130 yards. He was with many eyes and ears, so I backed out as I didn't want to push them out of this canyon. I had a few days off from work so I made the long hike back in there again the next morning and I couldn't find him :-k ! I was only seeing small 2 pts, a raghorn 4pt and does. None of the bigger bucks were to be found. I thought this might be because of the rut not getting into full swing yet.

Well, the next morning I had no intentions of going up but sat up in my bed at 4am and the "bug" got the best of me. Well, I'm glad I went up. I found the buck and closed the distance. Got in the "red zone" and took off the boots. I had two does and a small two point who busted me and I thought it was all over. They started moving away slowly. While they did this, the buck cleared and just stood there. I ranged, then got into my shooting rhythm. "Fliiing, SMACK!" He went, maybe, 15 yards, got sick and rolled down the hill; amazing! I took some time to myself with the animal that I have so much respect for and waited a few hours for my Dad to arrive. You all know how it goes from there...hugs, high fives, pics, and packing! :) I can't wait to do it again.

SW is right, and thanks for the awesome compliment! I don't know of a father/son combo in the Salt Lake area that gets it done like the Broderick boys. We are hard-core hikers and do it the real way, archery only with over the counter tags and NO guides!

Thanks again for all of the nice comments. Sorry for any spelling errors. I'm at work trying to cruise through this ;)
