Antelope Island Deer

Out of curiosity, anyone know how many tags will be released for the Island? Last article I read said two, and they are hoping to fetch a couple hundred thousand dollars from the highest bidder for one of them. I know that the numbers won't be set until later... but I put my dad in for it, so just wondering.

I was of the understanding that the numbers were set? And it's indeed 2. Believe the bidding tag was auctioned off at the expo for 200,000+ dollars. Can't remember the exact amount? They get to hunt 4 days earlier than the public tag I believe also.

 The "Application Guide" says that the big game & antlerless tag numbers won't be set until May 5 at the next Wildlife Board meeting... but 2 tags sounds good to me. My old man's odds are astronomical anyway.

 The tag went for $265,000 at the expo! Insane!

That right there shows that money is all it takes.What gives the guy that bought the tag the right to hunt 4 days earlier than the person that draws the tag :>/ ,plus I read that they get to hunt till the same date that the draw tag holder gets to also. Its tags like these that certain states put out there for these big money people that get the special privliges.It's BS.It should be the same for everybody no matter how much money you have and no doubt he'll have many people looking for the biggest buck on the island.Hope he kills a dink :thumb It will be no different than Spidey just another one of the best animals one can buy.

That is correct. 250k plus at the expo for the auction tag and one public hunter. Two total is all.
