antler repair!!

this 29' scull is old and needs repair, the right tip has 4 inches brocken off from lying over the years.

i first saw off the remaining bone off the tip till where it is freyed split and cracked. then i drill a hole in the center and fill it with Epoxy sculpt (epoxy sculp is a very good product for this sort of thing, i found it off of a taxidermy mag just for antler repair) when it is packed in there good enough i put a wire the size of the opposite tip, when dry, i bend the tip to match the shape of the other..then i mold the rest of the epoxy on, sand it then its good as new

the cheater you see was gone when i found the antler..there was just a pile of dust..
as you can see the epoxy worked great!

Looks great, to bad I just threw away a couple of skulls that I should have kept to repair like this. :>/

yes.. to bad.. ive done plenty othersto, deep mouse chews, deep cracks the stuff is great

There's always the option of putting it on one of my reproduction skulls when your done...it will look like brand new!
