Here's a weekend of fun! I love to hunt these birds. I've got a nice honey hole a few hours from home.

My oldest son can run them down going uphill. I just turn him and the dogs loose and hope they fly down a little lower (where I am!).
Actually, I run 8-9 miles a day so I THINK I'll be able to handle it although, as you know, chukar country ain't exactly the easiest to traverse.
I was on a chukar hunt 2 years ago and we had to walk past the sheep to find the birds!
They apparently don't do well up North. MT only has a few right down next to the WY border.
I have a number of places were I used to hunt them from horse back. Much easier on me and a real hoot if you have a big rinning dog. Now I'm wearing out and the horse is gone. Getting a four wheeler and might try that. Those are Hun's with me and Hannah. Found them on a Chukar hunt. Awfully inconciderate of them to show up!
You've got some good chukar and hun areas where you are, correct?
