Any one else hunting Dutton?

Well as some of you may have read i have a Dutton tag and its been a little slow. I wonder if anyone has had any luck in this unit yet this year?

seriously???? you haven't seen the pics of some of the bulls being killed on the Dutton??? wow, some real hogs coming out this year. So far I've seen pics of a 380ish 7x9 and a double g1 tined bull that is really huge. Both bulls were obviously shot with a bow.


What tag do you have? I've got early rifle which I'm sure you know by now.

Stinky where are you getting these pictures of Dutton bulls? I haven't seen one yet and would very much like to. My brother has an early rifle tag also.

Yea i would like to see pictures too! 3 of us are in the group and have the archery tag. I dont leave until the 29th and return on the 12th so ill be hunting the last 2 weeks straight. But the other 2 in my group are currently on the mountain.

I got one in an email from a friend who contacted me about the 7x9 they spotted of which I was swore to secrecy. The other was texted to my phone the day after the kill. Its has since been sent around in an email to a few of my other good friends so I woulda figured you would have seen that one by now.

Here's a picture of a small dutton bull my son and I walked up on to 15 yards last year during our archery deer hunt. After about a 5 minute stand off he jumped the creek and went back to eating the small quakies at 35 yards this is were I snapped this really poor picture. He acted almost drunk off the quakies he was eating and is a fairly large 5X5 with whale tails. Should be a nice 6X6 this year.I know I should have taken the picture when he was 15 yards but he was staring us down big time so this is what I got with my cheap camera.

what the heck. I've gotten this email forwarded to me so many times since I recieved the picture mail on my phone that I'm sure everyone's seen him by now so here's for the guys who haven't seen this pig. He's a brute in my books.




So to however you are great job, What a toad. I just hope I can SEE a bull like that! whether or not I get him I will be happy!

I will not ever waste my points on that hunt again! Between the spike elk and deer hunters camping on the water holes and the rut not kicking in until the last few days, and the gun hunters "scouting" that hunt sucked! I'm seriously disapointed in the fact that Utah found it necessary to open most of the LE elk units up to spike hunters. 12 years of waiting wasted. I had shots at small bulls but it seemed that every time I got on a 300ish bull I ran into a spike hunter that thought "that's a nice bull, I think I can get closer" and boogered it out of the county. I'm ranting I know, it's just frustrating to spend 20 days hunting and have that much competition for not even the same animals - just all the extra human presence in the woods made it a very difficult archery hunt. :>/ I know of a lot of other hunters that had the Dutton LE tag that feel the same way - what can we do to change Utah's mind on the spike thing for next year? I'll have to wait another 17 years I guess...... ](*,)
