Any suggestions on books for mule deer?

l was looking on half.com for Mule Deer literature and was wondering if any of them are any good?

Does anyone have suggestions on what books are good and which ones aren't?
In one of my magazines they called Wayne Van Zwoll the mule deer king. He is a zoologist who conducts studies on behaivor, habitat, mating, etc... but any other ideas.
As always, thanks in advance :thumb

Are you wanting to learn about mule deer or how to hunt them? (archery or rifle) Your answer will determine the book you'll want.

If you're wanting to learn all about mule deer habits, Van Zwoll's book called "Mastering Mule Deer" isn't too bad. A lot of biological info and some good hunting stuff as well.

If you want to know how to hunt them and where to look for them with a bow and arrow in your hand.......I would highly suggest Dwight Schuh's "Hunting Open County Mule Deer". Great read with some very helpful tips. A must for bowhunters wishing to stalk bedded bucks.

For high-country backpack type hunting techniques and what to look for, David Long's book "Public Land Mulies" is pretty darn good. Comes with a DVD as well, to show you some country and gear.

There are a few others written by Mike Eastman, Cameron Hanes, Jim Zumbo, that are okay.

l want to learn about hunting them archery style

l was reading previous posts and ordered the Larry D. Jones video "How to Hunt Mule Deer in Open Country." It is a video that you highly recommended in another post.

Therefore, l am trying to learn how to "successfully" hunt mule deer. l have been deer hunting for 15 years now, but it was always the "drive and spot" technique. l want to get away from that and really learn how to hunt. So, l picked up the video and was looking at some books as well.
