i hunted in Nebraska during the 2005 season, but i used an outfitter; http://www.deermeadowoutfitters.com. they are located about 30 miles south of Gordon. It is in the far northwest corner of the state, in what they call the sandhills. They had both Mulies and whitetails on their land. It was cool, because i wanted to go after Mulies and my buddy wanted to go after whitetails, so we could actually hunt both in the same day.
I will tell you that it was a bitch walking up and down the sand hills.... they were huge and everything was sand! Anyway, tags were easy to get and we were even offered extra doe tags when we got there! Great State and a lot of game!

I too am considering a trip out to Nebraska for the 2008 season. My buddy and I are from michigan, we are looking to go on our first Mulie rifle season hunt. We really have aour choice of where to go. We wanted somewhere where it wasn't too mountainous... (mid-west boys here), had a good mule deer herd, fair amount of state land and reasonable tag prices with a garanteed draw or over the counter. Nebraska seems to fit most of that criteria.

Our issue now is to figure out where in the state we are going to go. We have narrowed down to the pine ridge area in the northwest or the sandhills area in the north central part of the state. Oh, one more thing... we will want to hike in and camp, probably on state land unless we can somehow get permission to hunt private. From everything that I'm reading there is alot of hunting pressure on state land... Can anyone offer a little guideance?

Thanks in advance...
