Arrow Questions

Well im getting all set up for the bow hunt this year and had a couple questions. Has anyone shot some pse arrows and if you have how tough are they, and also if not what is the toughest arrow you've shot. Whats you take on arrow weight and spine, and also broadheads- what will shoot as close to a field tip as possible?

It will tell you everything you need to know. Just input the info for your bow and it will calculate the rest. Even calculates general sight markers to show where your sights should be given your bows stats.

This was the best thing I did for my bow. I could not get consistent arrow flight for the life of me. Everything on the net says that with my bow and poundage I should be shooting a 340 spine. I put in my info and it told me a 340 spine arrow was not enough. I bought some 300 spine and now I am much happier. I have consistent arrow flight and I have great flight field point or broadhead

As for broadheads, it is my opinion that with correct spine and a tuned bow most broadheads will fly fairly well. Every bow will need minor tuning to get the broadheads to fly right. But google broadhead tuning and you will find enough info to get you squared away before the hunt

i have never shot the pse arrows before but the toughest arrow i ever shot and still shoot would be hands down the maxima kv arrows from carbon express with the muzzy 4 blade broad head and they fly awesome.

I have not shot any PSE arrows either.

I shoot Goldtip XT Hunters in 75/95. I shoot #70 with 32" draw...most bow manufacturers recommend 5 gr/pound minimum and mine are at about 420 grains (6 gr/lb). I've shot them through Mathews, Bowtech and Elite and have had no issues with enough spine or toughness.

I have not shot PSE arrows. I shoot Vapor Jets by Blackhaws 4000 55/70 ACA. These are the single toughest arrows I've come across. I shoot 30" draw shooting 60 #

I've shot the Carbon Express (PSE) Radial X weaves (pros) for years now........one of the best shafts I've tested.

In most cases staightness isn't a factor until you attach a broadhead, then it matters especially at longer distances. If you're just getting started, go with something arround +- .003. PSEs pros are .001 , but I think they are expensive to hunt with and STLs (more affordable) are +-.005. Currently I'm shooting Easton ST Epics, and they are a little heavy, but I got a dozen for $79 (Just the shafts, I fletch my own).
I've shot the PSE STLs, and they fly ok, but I've never had a broadhead on one. For the same money though, you could get something that is straighter. Golt tips and Eastons are about the toughest arround, IMO.
