Awesome Scouting trip. (pics)

My brother and I went out scouting for deer in their winter range for when we go shed hunting. We saw a lot of bucks but most of them were to far away to get a picture of them (Don't have a good camera) But i did get some pics. Also... we went out to this place and spotted some deer so we drove up to get a closer look and we seen a 3 point buck with one side. We Watched him to see if he would possibly drop the other side. The buck started fighting with another buck and had their heads behind some sagebrush but when the buck brought his head back up... he didn't have the antler anymore! It was exciting to watch. We sat there and waited for the deer to move out of the area then we went and got the shed. Went and tried to look for the other side and found it on the way back to the truck. Also found a little fresh 2 point and a 3 year old 2 point and a 2 year old 3 point set while looking for the other side. Heres some pics.

This first pic is of some small bucks we seen. Sorry bad pic!!!

Nice work! Does seem early, last year the first fresh sheds (day old) here in Colorado, I found on Feb 4th. Most of the bucks I was watching didn't shed until the third week of Feb. Be interesting to see this year. A couple days ago I saw a large buck still packin.

Yeah... might find sheds way up high where you think you wouldn't find sheds because some of the deer haven't moved down to their wintering range!

There are rules for northern utah. You cannot go shed hunting until i think that it is April 1st. But other parts of utah can go whenever. But i would suggest going after all the deer have shed and starting to move to higher ground.

I cant believe they are dropping this early. Be careful not to bump them at this time of year. It is critical to their health. Congrats on the finds.
