Bear Killed by Harley?

I don't know if anyone else has received the same email that I got, but it said that this bear was kill by a Harley Davidson in Lolo Pass between Montana and Idaho. I really doubt it but if anyone knows the real story about the photos please tell. Here are the pics.

Don't know anything about the facts behind this bear, but the lady in the turtle neck and denim jacket sure seem to be having a hard time with the situation. lol

Dang, I hope the story isn't true because that would kill the driver unless he was lucky.

BIG bear.

FYI: I deleted and rewrote this response since I quickly found the story on this bear/pics.

Sneekee, I found a short story on this the IdahoFishandGameNotebook site. Apparently it was indeed hit on Lolo Pass...but not by a motorcycle. It was hit by a big rig traveling over the pass.

Nevertheless, what a beast! I have been over Lolo Pass many, many times traveling to a from visiting relatives in Missoula, Plains, Paradise, and Thompson Falls. I am SURE GLAD I didn't run into that big boy.

Great catch NONYA!!

There is actually a video of the taxidermy work done on it and it's installation at the school.

Funny, you certainly can't trust what ya get in your email any more....and I guess you can't trust sites that most folks would consider legit. Once I found the story and pics (same pics as these by the way) on the Idaho Game site I assumed that it was the real deal....and I was wrong! I just emailed them, along with the link to the real story from the Missoulian.

With all that being said...I love it when folks post these things with the "stories" that they have received. It allows folks the opportunity to seek the truth vice just believing what the email stated and running with it.

Thanks NONYA.

Thanks for the info guys. I don't really get a chance to look up much of the information on these stories becasue the limited sites I can use on my work computer. Thanks again for getting things figured out.
