Best time to hunt muley in Southern Sask.

Hi ! Everyone.. Was wondering if you experienced mule deer hunters could give me some insight as to the best time to go mule deer hunting near Maple Creek, Saskatchewan (southern Sask). This is my first muley hunt (I have been hunting whitetail since I was 16). My outfitter only has available November 4th-8th. and then in December. I already have done my homework and spoke with references I just wanted opinions on the time frame issue. Any input would be awesome. Thanks Peeps.. (???) (???)

I'd opt for the the earlier dates if you can. The rut will be picking up and you should see more activity as opposed to December.

I would guess the earlier one might be better for the RUT? But that's just a guess as I've never hunted Saskatchewan. If it's early December that might not be bad either, if it's late December I'd probably gamble on the 1st week in November hunt myself.

Thanks for answering guys. That is what I am scheduled for Nov 4th..so i will just keep that..and i promise i will not be a "one and done" member. I am always searching around and tinkering with stuff on net to make myself a better hunter and get the most knowledge of the task at hand (dropping a respectable muley in this case). Anyway thanks.. and if someone else has input about that area i am all ears. :thumb :thumb

early november is perfect. only time thats better is the first week of sept. but thats archery only

No clue on Sask, but what an opportunity! Have a blast and definitely post some pics after your hunt!

I'm only one province over to the West and our rut goes pretty hard for most of November but the first couple of weeks is usually the best. It's amazing how far the bucks will travel in the rut. They also get fairly aggressive and aren't near as prone to running away when they see movement which helps a lot.
