Big boy still around

Although these pics aren't taken quite at the end of the season, I have not heard of anyone getting this big guy. So, now the question is, Do I buy a leftover license for the first rifle season (good for both bull or cow, but only good for private land, or do I wait for and get a later general season rifle tag (good for bull only, but also good for public land)? I am looking not just for antlers (though those are nice) but something to fill the freezer. What would you guys do? Hunt early and limited ground or later, bull only?
