How have things been man, long time no talk! I haven't been on this site in quite some time, just got the urge to check in this morning. Things are good out here in the Great State of Wyoming. Had a excellent hunting season. Scored on both a muley and a nice five point bull. Nothing huge but a good hunt, espically since we decided to hunt up here in Jackson and didn't really do much research. It was like walking into a dark alley with a blindfold on. The amount of area up here, it is impossible to know even where to begin. Both me and my hunting buddy were able to take some nice antelope though, his scored right over 82, of course that was before the drying period. He shrunk dramatically over the course of the past few months, he had him mounted on a pedestal, it looks amazing. Mine was not quite that big but scored 80 2/8.
In all our outings this past season we have found some new country that looks very promising for bear season. Next week we will go down and register our bait sites and then hopefully won't be long until we can get up there to set the baits. Snow pack this season is well below normal for our area, so I am thinking sometime by mid april we will be in there.
Looks like you had an amazing season yet again, congrats. Read your article and again all I can say is amazing, you have without a doubt got to be the most successful bowhunter, hands down!!!!
Holy smokes pard you are alive! We've missed you around here.......you need to stop in more often and keep us up-to-date.
Sounds like you've had one heck of a season up there in God's country.......an 80" speed goat is no joke! Post up some photos when you get a chance.
When all that cold weather was hitting your parts early on I was thinking the winter was going to be bad. Looks like you boys made out okay with less than average snow?
I'm planning on trekking the high country of CO again this bow season. That timberline is something else. Maybe head to UT (if I'm drawn) and Arizona of course......time will tell.
Yeah it was a heck of a season! I try to check in now and again but just don't have much time to do any posting. If you look in the antelope forum I did post up the pictures of both goats.
I read on the other site (MM) about your high country CO deer hunt, man that looks like fun. I remember when you first posted and I was shocked how ragged you looked after spending days up there. I imagine the feeling of accomplishing a hunt like that is priceless?
