Big Muley Pics

Hey guys ('n gals 8) ):

Here is a buck that I got some film of last fall in the rut. Notice the peice of farm equiptment in the background! It was in a guys back yard off the side of an oiled road! This is a Utah General Unit and the buck came from public grounds, but was lured into the mans yard by apples and hot does. Check out the giant inline on his right side! It is well over 12". Also the buck has another small inline on his left G3. This buck also had double cheaters off the left, but unfortunatly the lower cheater was broken alomost completely off.

There is really nowhere to post this in the forum, so I'll put it with these pics. It is a pine hen struttin' his stuff just two days ago while I was tagging along with a kid on a turkey hunt. I caught the act on film and took this pic from that. A lot like a sage hen, but with different coloration and not as extravagant.

Hope that you enjoy and lets get some feed back, hey?

Cool pics....that is a nice buck, kinda unique. That pine hen kind of looks like a cross between a turkey and a grouse. Is it small like a grouse or bigger?

Wow nice pics shedhunter, Really nice buck, looks like its got a good body too. Not really thick but nice spred and and good height. You catch him with the flash of the camera?
That is a great pic of that hen struttin it stuff, ive caught 2 on a old dirt road before but they brought their tails in and wasnt quite as extravagent as that pic. I didnt know it was then hens that strutted, i thought it might have been the males competeing that did it, i dont know stuff enough to say so though. Looks really big all puffed out like that and caught him right on the log too! Great pics

Sorry guys. I guess I should have specified a bit more on the "pine-hen". They are actually a type of grouse, which one I couldn't tell ya. They are cousins to the sage grouse, but I usually find them in the pine trees and oak. I am thinkin' its something along the line of blue grouse??? Maybe. And dont let "hen" throw ya off either. This is a male, we saw two other females the same day too. Pine-hen is just a common name for southern Utah I guess! :D !
