I passed up 5 bears before I dropped†this big 6'5''†boar†with one shot of my .300 Win Mag†the evening of the opening day on a self guided hunt near Ketchikan, AK.† Early the next morning my friend took an average sized sow 150 yards from where mine still lay 20 minutes after a shot and missed a large honey snout at 300 yards.† Two weeks later my brother shot a 6'9'' boar 150 yards from the boned out carcase of my friends sow.
