Bonus Point question?

Okay so my dad has 6 deer points and my wife has 1 point. My dad was going to put in for a CWMU unit that he would more than likely draw this year. (We have some connections to it) But he does not want to screw up his dedicated hunter tag, this is his last year and would like to use his last year on a public land hunt (general season). So we are thinking that if he puts in for something else this year (say antelope) and my wife puts in for 1 point for deer (she is not going to be hunting this year we have a new addition joining the family).

So next year he will have 6pts and she will have 2pts. If they were to put in as a group for the CWMU unit what happens to the points, are they added together (8) and then cut in half so that they each have 4pts going into the draw. The bonus point thing has me all confused.

Thanks for the help guys.

Yep that is how it works. They add all the bonus points and take the average. If the average comes out a half point in the average then they round it down. So if one had four points and the other had three point the total would 7. When they get the average it would be 3.5 so they would round it down to three points and that is what you would have going into the draw.

That is what I was thinking but I want to get some second opinions on it before he puts in for his tags.
