Bought a new rifle today

It's the newer Remington model 799 in 22-250. What I am the most excited about is the Mauser 98 action which is smooth as butter. I handled and shot both the Browning A-bolt and this and let me tell you, this gun is sweet. 22-250 is probably my favorite caliber and I really wanted a good 'yote gun.

 I bought it at a local gun shop for $577 but you can get it on Bud's for $541 delivered. After an FFL handling fee, it's pretty much the same price.

 Nope, I had to order it from the factory and it should be here Monday or Tuesday. Been researching some good varmint scopes for it as well.

 Well, I bought the Simmons ProHunter 6-18x40. Came recommended by ChuckHawks.com for the price range I was looking for. Not a high end Leupold by any means but it seems like a lot of scope for the money.

I wanted a little higher power for those long range 'yote shots.

After looking at the 22-250 cartridge today, why can't we just call it a .223 Short Mag? :)

I just picked up the rifle today and I'll give you a full review when I sight it in this week.

thats a nice rifle . the wife let me get a new too today . picked up a remington model 700 sp 270 . can not wait to use come next hunting season .
