Bowhunting NM Unit 2B

Two experienced bowhunters drew Unit 2B in NM and plan to be there the last week of the bow season (closes September 22). We have topos and Google Earth images. At this time we plan to hunt limited water in the unit in the afternoons. Glass and stalk or do one man drives in the AM.
Any suggestions from someone familiar with this unit, especially in early fall when it is still pretty hot?
I have access to 35,000 acre Diamond Tail Ranch adjoining the north side of the Sandia unit in NM. If I do not use my tag during the early bow season on Unit 2B, I will be hunting the late season on Diamond Tail. I may be looking for a hunting partner for the late hunt, as the guy I'm taking in September will not be available for the hunt in January.
