CALIFORNIA MULEYS

Did any body get lucky enough to get drawn for a mule deer hunt? I put in for an X9A but no luck.

I was drawn for G3 (Goodale)....I'll be chasing them with my bow come December.

Yeah, I drew D6. 15 deer seen opening day but no legal bucks. Got a good feelin about the end of the season.

By any chance do you guys know any area to hunt in D8. Its my first year and me and my wife will be hunting it.

Do you have to sacrifice your point for a G3 tag? I've heard good things about the G zones, but I've been saving points for an X zone.

G3 (Goodale) is the most coveted tag the Golden State offers and is the hardest to draw. (4000+ put in for 25 tags) Max point holders are generally the only folks that draw. Mathematically, I'll probably never draw it again. It's similar to drawing the Arizona Strip or Henry Mountains tag during the rut. I had max points when I drew this year. Hopefully i can make the best of it, as I'll be chasing them with a bow.

I've been hunting in CA for 7 years and had no idea (kind of sad, honestly).

I think I've confused myself and need to have a good look at the CA regs again.

BOHNTR: Good luck to you man. Hopefully a trophy opportunity will present itself. You appear to be a hard working and successful hunter. Do you happen to post on the Blacktail Country forum? You seem familiar.
