Can you call or rattle in a Mule Deer?

Just wondering if anyone has had any luck or tried to rattle in or call in a mule deer? Just wondering.

I've had a little luck with smaller bucks rattling and calling. Not as effective as whitetail though.

I have done it but it only works in the peak of the rut. The results are very good using this method my friend called one in and it was only 3 yards away from the hunter but 20 from him.

I will add one silly question...Will a whitetail grunt call or fawn bleat have any effect on mule deer...besides running them out of the country?....I have limited mule deer experience, but know how whitetails react at differnt times with grunts and bleets....But I would use these calls if the time was right if I had an idea that they might bring a desired result....Just wondering

Thanks,

If I am hunting while the rut is going on I always bring the horns to rattle just incase nothing else is going as planned .You might as well add anything that you can as a backup.I have only used them one time and I did have a few smaller bucks reaspond.

I've got an old Eastmans video where Gordon Eastman uses a call to call in fawns and does with a call they used to make and sell. I think the video is called "Talking to the mule deer." Sometimes the bucks would follow the does into the calling. I've also see another video where a guy rattled in a buck but they also said that it cannot be done consistently like whitetails. fatrooster.

I've called in several that way. Used the Primos "Can" call during the rattling sequence. I've only done it during the peak of the rut. Got two on video. One big 4x4 with brow tines and another smaller 4 point that was all busted up and came running when I cracked the antlers together. I tried rattling up a buck in up in Glenwood Springs,Co. this year and had a 7/8 curl Bighorn sheep come in. Pretty funny.
