Canada trip

Well I got back from my annual trip to Saskatchewan last week and had a great time as usual. I did not do as good on the sheds as I sometimes do but I did manage to find about 45 sheds in 4 days. The great thing about Saskatchewan is that even if you don't find a ton of sheds, The sheds you do find tend to be huge. I found a big heavy whitetail shed that I had the match to at home (scores about 165"), a fresh brown matched set of muley sheds in the 190's, a 10 point single that scores 90", a bunch of other great big muley and whitetail sheds and a bunch of moose antlers (I had never found a moose antler before), I also found 3 big dead bull moose that I had to leave there. It was very hard to leave them there I wanted to bring the biggest one home pretty bad. So all in all it was a good time and I can't wait to go back next year. Here are just a few of the better pics. Between the 5 of us we found approx 160 sheds in 4 days.
giant dead moose
another view giant dead bull
190"+ brown set 7x6 pts.
10 point hardwhite single 90" shed, you can't see 3 cheaters out the back from this angle
hardwhite single with 7 pts. Too bad it is broken. It would have been 85+"
really heavy and very dark brown 5 pt.

Awesome pics!!! I've always wanted to head up there just for a week of shed hunting just to see what it would be like. There are definitely some monsters up there. Congrats on a great trip, that's sweet you do that every year.

Really nice finds! Did you have to leave the moose because of the laws? Are you hunting private property? How did you get started going up there do you know somebody? Sorry about all the questions just sounds like a fun trip.

My question is do you go solely for shed hunting annually? Or do you have family/friends there you visit each year?

SWEET finds! I love that moose/carcass 'shot'. Very cool, thanks! 10sign: 10sign:

well to answer a few of the questions. First of all I only shed hunt on public land, That does not mean I wouldn't shed hunt on private land given the opportunity because I don't see anything wrong with that but I just don't have acess to any private land worth shed hunting. I do stay at a friends house when I go up there but the purpose of the trip is mainly just to shed hunt for a few days. And as far as leaving the dead moose heads it is because that is the law up there and there is no way I could get them across the border. I have left dosens of giant deer skulls up there too. my wife found a skull that scored well over 200" and we had to leave that as well. It was probably 220"+. I have had to leave lots of 180" up to 200" deer skulls there over the years. This was my 7th consecutive trip up there. I find more sheds here aroung home by far, but I always find a few monsters up there so it is fun.
