I'm planning on hunting antelope in the Casper area (if I draw). Does anyone here hunt, or is planning on hunting that area? If you have any pointers, I'm all ears.

I've hunted the area off of Hat Six road, just south of Casper twice now. It is a walk in area that is enrolled in the Private Land Public Wildlife (PLPW) program. There is also some state land along that area as well. There are plenty of antelope, and usually quite a few left over tags that can be bought over the counter. There aren't any monsters and there are quite a few hunters. The sage is short, but the terrain offers lots of opportunity for stalking. If you hunt the walk in area, bring a wheel barrow or a game cart WITH SOLID WHEELS, cactus spines play hob with pneumatic tires!

PLPW info can be found here: http://gf.state.wy.us/wildlife/access/plpw/huntingwalk/hunt_2.asp

You'd be looking for Natrona county.

good luck to you though access areas are actually not bad at all foot traffic only in most of those though
