So which would you choose: Chevy, Ford, Dodge, or Toyota? Which truck is the toughest and the best?

Yes I voted for Toyota.

I sure like the looks of all the big trucks out there though right now....but i'm a Ford guy through & through :thumb
PRO
GO TOYOTA! ( I also have owned a few toyota trucks and currently drive an 07 FJ Cruiser) and Toyota's reliability is unmatched (IMO).

Well let me explain with this:
Let's see, of all the vehicles I've bought from a dealer new, and there's been a few, the only ones I still own are all Chevys. Still own the '90 C1500 with close to 300K on the odometer. Absolutely love my Blazer ZR2 for offroad and hunting. Hard to beat my wife's Camaro SS, unless it's a Vette. As for an economy car, an '06 Monte Carlo getting 31 MPG.
So guess I'll have to vote Chevy/GMC all the way! I'll be looking to get a 2500HD 4X4 with the Duramax sometime later in the year. I won't even look at the others, there's no reason to.
Chevy S10 Series
Chevy S10 are durable hard working truck, I have one myself. They travel the mountains easily on trails I would normally only take a 4Wheeler or Jeep on. The only disadvantage to these trucks are for a good ride they made the front end be durable and it moves in order to try to even the truck(Blazer) out if you hit a rock or are on a slant this wears out the ball joints after about 140,000-150,000 miles but the truck lasts for over 200,000 easy. Ford Ranger, Toyota, and Dodge Dakota don't compare.
A Japanese company (Toyota) and an American company (General Motors) decided to have a canoe race on the Missouri River. Both teams practiced long and hard to reach their peak performance before the race.
On the big day, the Japanese won by a mile.
The Americans, very discouraged and depressed, decided to investigate the reason for the crushing defeat. A management team made up of senior management was formed to investigate and recommend appropriate action.
Their conclusion was the Japanese had 8 people rowing and 1 person steering, while the American team had 8 people steering and 1 person rowing.
Feeling a deeper study was in order; American management hired a consulting company and paid them a large amount of money for a second opinion.
They advised, of course, that too many people were steering the boat, while not enough people were rowing.
Not sure of how to utilize that information, but wanting to prevent another loss to the Japanese, the rowing team's management structure was totally reorganized to 4 steering supervisors, 3 area steering superintendents and 1 assistant superintendent steering manager.
They also implemented a new performance system that would give the 1 person rowing the boat greater incentive to work harder. It was called the 'Rowing Team Quality First Program,' with meetings, dinners and free pens for the rower. There was discussion of getting new paddles, canoes and other equipment, extra vacation days for practices and bonuses.
The next year the Japanese won by two miles.
Humiliated, the American management laid off the rower for poor performance, halted development of a new canoe, sold the paddles, and canceled all capital investments for new equipment. The money saved was distributed to the senior executives as bonuses and the next year's racing team was outsourced to India.
Sadly, The End.
Here's something else to think about
Ford has spent the last 30 years moving all its factories out of the US, claiming they can't make money paying American wages.
TOYOTA has spent the last 30 years building more than a dozen plants inside the US.
The last quarter's results:
TOYOTA makes 4 billion in profits while Ford racked up 9 billion in losses.
Ford folks are still scratching their heads.
IF THIS WEREN'T SO TRUE IT MIGHT BE FUNNY.
Anyway, Chevrolet: An American revolution.
I work for michael waltrip racing, YOTA"S profit made in the US goes back to the US, YOTA has just as many plants in AMERICA as CHEVY<DODGE<OR FORD, YOTA"S sold in AMERICA are made in AMERICA, parts and all, they have a plant in NC in ROWAN COUNTY, fords are made in MEXICO, with parts made in CANADA, and chevy and dodge both have parts that are made in CANADA, also YOTA CAME OUT WITH A DIESEL THAT WILL PULL ANY CHEVY IN HALF, well just my $.02
I didn't know that Toyota has come out with a diesel in their trucks. I'll have to look that up and see what their numbers are. What are they putting it in? I've heard they are working on putting out a three quarter ton but haven't seen much as of yet. I do know that they've been making diesels for tractors and such.
You give me a choice between: A tundra, Chevy S10, Tacoma. It would be the S10 every time, because even Chevy's second hand truck beats Toyotas first hand truck.
Bottom line the Chevrolet Silverado will never be beat. It is the toughest truck out there and past experiences of seeing the guts of all types of trucks hold true. Chevy dosen't experiment they don't put things in that are just a "hope so" they put things and put together there vehicles the best they don't mess around and they build trucks stronger than any others out there.
The Silverado has been around for a very long time, and in that time it's name has never changed, that's because it's background stands true it is the toughest truck and it has always been the Sivlerado because that name has never got a bad background.
For 89 years this is our truck:
#1Deer 1-I, the name "Silverado" has not been the name of a 1/2 ton Chevy truck for very long. C10, C1500 and other designations are how the 1/2 ton was designated for years (substitute K for C for 4X4). The name "Siverado" used to be the "luxury" edition of the 1/2 ton back from 1975 until 1999. GMC pretty much did the exact same thing with the Sierra nameplate.
