CO tag draw!!!!!

Just found out that I drew an either-sex tag for hunt #11...I realize that its not a premium hunt, but its my first elk hunt, so I'm pretty stoked.

I've been going over and over...and over...and over.....maps and reading books as much as possible. Running and hiking with a heavy pack. Shooting a lot....October can't get here soon enough. [-o<

I was throwing around the idea of doing a private land tresspass hunt, despite the fact that I always prefer to do things myself and learn from my mistakes. A guided hunt is out of the question financially anyway...but the idea of some "private" land and a little help in the right direction by the owner might be really good for me.

I was talking to Jerry from "Colorado Hunter Services", and he seemed to have what I was looking for on some land in unit 12. Does anybody have any experience with him?

Any other guide related advice for a first timer?
