What are thoughts on this area? Access, traffic, muley #'s?

Planning a back pack trip, and was interested to hear thoughts on the area.

Thanks for any help, -Drew

We're kicking around the ide aof Sept, and Unit 24..I'm just worried about campers/hikers, and if it's too "flat" elevation wise.

It's all pretty high and rugged and heavily hunted. It's managed for yeild not quality. If you have either sex deer archery tags you'll fill them. Just don't expect a trophy. The weather should be okay, it usually doesn't get too hairy until the end of October. If you are willing to hike away from the trails and hunt hard you will see some good bucks, but you'll work for them.

some areas of the flat tops offer good hunting, tbut the overall experience seems to be to much pressure in general you will work hard for any animal you get. Good luck

i actually work at budges lodge on the flattops during the summer. its not as heavly hunted as most think least not in the actual wilderness. but it is very tough and rugged land not that easy to hunt in but it does have some monster bulls and the bucks are hard to find but if you do it will be a monster. if you go in to budges and see the owner name is larry parks goes by tenny tell him that ron says hey haha
