Dead line for applications in CO are April 4th. Here's the website with the regs, units and seasons.

http://wildlife.state.co.us/

Another site you might want to look at is huntodds.com. It'll let you know how many pp's you'll need for the unit you want.

For archery, I'd be looking at Unit 65. Lots of public land with some really nice deer and elk to boot. Bit of rough country with not a lot of roads so make sure you have a good set of comfortable boots. Tends to get snow early too.

Archery either-sex tags for ELK are over the counter in most units.

65 and 71 are OTC units.

Good success rates too. 65 looks like a 15 percent average success rate, and 71 is sitting at 16%.

You can order OTC tags from the DOW website.

Good luck.

keep in mind that if you want to deer hunt in 65 or 71 that although they are over the counter for elk, they are draw for deer. the unit 65 deer code is the same as 64 (dm064o1A) and you have about a 93% chance of drawing with no points. You only have about a 10% chance of drawing 71 (dm071o1A) with no points.
good luck,
