Colorado High Country....

My friends and I went on a hike Saturday. We went approximately 10-12 miles and climbed close to 3,000 feet up to 11,500 or so. We bushwacked most of it, including this 1,000 foot wall, that kicked my butt. One slip on that rock face and we were in big trouble. Praise God we all made it. I knew it was going to be a tough one and I tried to get tuned up with a couple of other hikes, but I wasn't nearly as prepared as I should have been.

Dang Jeff. You need to quit that exercising in the mountains. You're gonna make be look bad lagging 1/2 mile behind you in Sept.

Chris, I'm just trying to get into shape for hunting and enjoy God's beautiful creation. I think we should plan on some some serious hoofing to get in there where the wapiti are. Scott once that ankle heals up we need to get some hikes in. :thumb

Jeff. I was right on your heals a few years ago so hopefully I will be this year too. My exercising consists of climbing a ladder with a heavy tool belt, carrying pieces of steel frames and 12-48' sheets of tin. I would rather be in the mountains instead of this lovely Kansas wind and heat. Chris

A word of advice- Next time you decide to cross a glacier or huge snowfield, bring an ICE AXE! :thumb If you slip you can't stop and all the praying in the world won't help.

Outstanding! Man, I needed that. I won't make it to the high country this year and that just gave me a little slice of peace. Thanks! I have to go now and go back and look at your pics some more.
