Colorado snow.....

Here's some photos of some of the snow storms we have been getting. I have put close to 50 hours on my 5030 Kubota, just plowing the driveway. After each storm, the driveway tends to blow shut every other day from the wind. We can sure use the snow, as we have been in drought for many years now.

Sure you don't feel the same as me, Hiker, but I sure do miss winters like that! Haven't had a "real" winter in quite a few years. Tend to move around too much and always at sea level.

Nice pictures.

It's funny how you can go from to little snow to too much snow in just a year.

We don't get a lot of snow here anymore but did up in Montana and when I was in colorado, Greeley area. I do miss it sometimes. Where are you at in Colo?

Don, our place is South East of Castle Rock. We also like the snow alot and I have enjoyed spending the hours on the tractor. I think we have received close to 70 inches so far this winter. We have a cabin, 30 miles north of Steamboat and we really get the snow up there, 400+ inches per year.

How bad are the deer and elk herds going to be effected by all the snow.

Nice pics Hiker, I too have plowed a bit of snow in my day. :>/ OK to look at, good to get the moisture. But hard on wildlife.

Ridgetop, The SE part of Colorado really has been nailed and the last count I've heard was 8,000 dead cattle. I'm not sure how the deer and antelope are doing. Very few elk in that area. By our home the deer and elk have disappeared, even though I have been seeing some fresh elk tracks, so I'm not really sure if most of them have made it through or not. The snow in the western part of Colorado is pretty normal, so I don't the deer and elk are hurting.

oh yes , the snow started dec. 20 and has been here since . it seems to snow every week , weather it is a light snow or heavy snow . unlike hiker , my snow thower made by arm and strong works on hot coco . i made a post in camp fire talk about how the deer and elk are being effected to some degree .

Doesn't that look peaceful. I love the snow, being that I'm from NM's northern mountains, but we sure don't get it here in Roswell.......
