Well, I can honestly say that I had checked out of hunting for this year. We normally need 3 points to get drawn in our area in Colorado, so that was out of the question as I only had 1. I was considering an elk hunt, but decided to not spend the money this year. I hadn't even been on here in several months. Then I got a strange email from my dad today. I have moved my focus to classic cars for the past few months, and the title of his email referenced that. When I opened the email, I saw that we had been sucessful for our draw.
Guess its time to gear up for hunting this fall.

I'm also going to try to get a buddy to go this year. We have 4 with tags, but the other three are my dad and his friends, all in their 60's. One of my friends that I bird hunt with has never big game hunted, so I'm going to get him to come just to hang out and see if he likes it. It's hard to convince him to spend the big $$$ and wait 3 years for his first trip with a tag when he doesn't even know what to expect.
