I have spent time in both of those zones last season. I did shot a 6x6 bull in zone 11. You can expect to see a lot of road hunters. If you get off the road you will find yourself much more alone.

Zone 11 can get really slippery if it gets wet from snow or rain. You will really want chains to travel most of those roads.

Zone 211's has the same road hunters, but the roads are better wet than zone 11.

A lot of pinion pines, shale and sage. Did see a number of mule deer along with herds of elk and bocats. After the season starts you'll have to locate the elk, which means anywhere people are they not.

Not a lot of good places to stay close to hunting, so I use a tent on BLM land.

There is a ton of public land to hunt on. A lot of the critters will try to move to private land on the White River for saftey.

I hunted first week of Nov - third season in 2003. I think your going to find if the weather is warm - go as high as you can and if you get early snow and its a good amount you will see them coming down.

Its been a drought for a number of years in Meeker, but this year we are getting rain a lot. Tonight for instance.

Hope that helps,
