i just found some pictures of a coral snake and they almost look the same! the color scheme is different but the colors are the same!

"Seeing a black head is not a 100% accurate method when determining whether or not a snake is a type of poisonous coral or a king snake, etc. Remember the old saying: "red and white will kill a fellow." What this means is that RED AND WHITE ARE NOT SEPARATED - the red and white bands touch."

LOL...here Killer, attached are a pic of a Corral snake compared to one of the pics that Lifetime_hunter posted. Notice the "red touching yellow" on the Corral snake. That's what Bigbuck was refering to. Also, the red is boardered by the black on the King snake.

I went to basic training at FT Polk, LA. They had coral snakes there. We were told that a coral snake must "chew" to inject its venom. If it strikes you and does not grab on you should be ok. If it bites and holds you are in trouble.

Anyway thats what they told us.

One morning a soldier woke up with one curled up on his chest, about 6 in from his nose. Up to that point I did know a pup tent could be torn so easly. :))
