coyote calls

my buddy and I went out all day sat. and half day sunday coyote hunting. I dont know if it is our calls or what but we never even had any coyotes answer back. i was just wondering what some other calls out there every one else is using to get them in.
We are using most of the primos calls.

Don't feel bad I am in the same boat. Can't call a thing in. I use a Cass Creak electric call hooked to an old car speaker to get extra distance. I also use hand calls that we have collected over the years.

I think you just have to be in the right place at the right time with the right call to get one in. It should pick up about Feburary though.

hey i realize their expensive but a johnny stewert call for predators is worth its weight in gold they work awsome for the people like myself that are not as good at using the hand held plus they just give you more confidence wich makes you stay on your setups longer. in the long run i think the last one is the most important

I'm new to but had some luck the first time out. I'm using a Western Rivers Remote Predator Call. It's remote control with a 50 yrd range. I pin a coon skin cap over the speaker and plce under a bush then get to calling. I run the dying rabbit call and the injured pup call for a minute or so, then go quiet for a couple minutes then cycle again. First time out I plugged a yote at 75 yards. He was coming straight in for the decoy......

Don't feel bad if you don't see anything the first 10, 15 or 20 (or more times) you go out.
Predator hunting is tough, first you have to get in and setup without any coyotes hearing, seeing or smelling you.
Then you have to be in hearing distance of said coyotes.
Then said coyote has to be interested in coming to the call, sometimes they just don't care at the moment.
Then you have to see them before they see, hear, smell you.
Then, and only then, you get a chance to kill them.
Sometimes it's a wonder any get called in and shot at all. :))
Good luck!

It also helps to go out when it's really cold. They need to eat more to keep warm so it makes it a little easier to call them in.

Hello all, I new to the board but thought I'd throw my two cents in. I always park at least a half a mile away from where I am calling and just keep going until I think I will be tired of walking when I get back to the truck. It might be one mile that day or maybe six, depends on my mood. I also like to start out calling soft and low. I use a mouse squeaker to start and if nothing shows up in a couple minutes I will hit a distress.

Appreciate the welcome! I called in a pair last Sunday on Primo's raspy coaxer. The male charged across the clearing like his tail was on fire; until he saw me draw my bow. ](*,) I kicked myself the rest of the day because he had the prettiest pelt I've seen all year.

I killed a little female that had a really pink belly and looked to be starting but that has been the only one I've seen so far.
