I got off of work today at noon and decided to take the wife and kids on a short fishing outing to one of our favorite spots close to home.
In about three hours of fishing we dragged 30 smallies to the bank and about 15 crappie. All were released to be caught again later on too!

i just took my kids last weekend to a creek and we caught a bunch of rainbow trout. my 2 yr ols was eating it up! he landed one ( on his 2 ft. long superman pole mind you) that was over 15".
cool pics again!
Nice job. :thumb
ABert, I am the same way. I release almost everything I catch. The two exceptions are steelhead and any catfish over 5 lbs. I just can't allow myself to let that kind of table fare go. I love bass and crappie too but don't like the hassle of filleting them. After all, I don't fish to create more work for myself!
Killer, watching the kids fight their fish is the best! Skylor had caught some real lunkers this year too and is getting pretty good with crank baits. He still likes to sit and soak a worm now and again but really likes tossing and retrieving now.
Brett, that first one weighed in at 3lbs 7oz and is the biggest I've landed this year. Needless to say I was pretty stoked. I've had a couple more on this season that I think would have been better but lady luck hasn't been too kind and I've lost them before getting them to the bank. In comparison, that crappie that my wife is holding is equally impressive and weighed in at just over 1lbs. All in all it was a great day.
