Danner Boots

Does or has anyone ever used the danner sierra 8in. boot with 200gr. th.
I tried a pair on today and they felt real good, the salesman said they where good for the snow and mud you run into when elk hunting. What do you guys think, buy or pass. TOM

Never owned a pair myself but have heard good things about them. To me the biggest key is what you just said however. "They felt good"

Danner Elk Hunters used to be THE boot for big game hunters with a fat wallet. I feel sure those ones you tried on are probably top of the line as all Danners seem to be.

I do not use the sierra, but I do use danner boots. I think they are one of the best boots that I have used and i have been through a few. I like a good all-around boot, but alot of times you need to match your boot with the type of hunting you will be doing.

I wouldn't hesitate a second to reccomend Danners.

Good Luck!!

I have had a few pair of Danners throughout the years and all were built super tuff and were very comfortable. I have a pair of non-insulated Danner Radicals now I wear for hiking and just kicking around but, they are so tuff I have used them antelope and elk hunting.I have had them for about four years now.

Anyway, for me as MM noted I go for comfort as my biggest feature because sore feet can ruin a hunt fast.

ET TOM, I have personally used Danners for close 20 years now and really like them. The ones I use are called Pronghorns, I think I have 200-400 weight insulation. They have really good ankle support when I'm climbing rocky terrain, they keep my feet dry and warm too.

Hiker I live in Texas, today is their last day to be open. I will see what they have left, the owner told me that he was going to sell what ever was left on ebay. I have been wearing the sierra boots around the house and they do fell good, plan on wearing the prong horns today. TOM
