Deep Creek or Wasatch

I'm looking at applying for a muzzleloader elk tag in either West Desert, Deep Creek or Wasatch Mountains Units. If you had a choice between the two units which would you choose for muzzleloader elk? Success rates are similar and average age of animals harvested is also similar. Wasatch offers a lot more tags, but Deep Creek would provide more solitude. We have the bonus points to draw either.

I'd look at deep creek,,,,,,,,,

I've been on the Wasatch during the LE elk the last 6 years, It is definitely
not what it was just a couple years ago.

I don't know anything about the Deep Creeks unit. Have heard some negative things, that's about it. Have hunted on the Wasatch during LE/muzzleloader every year for the past 5 or 6 and I haven't seen quality diminished in any way. Some years better than others, but have seen some great bulls the last couple years. If the MZ were anything like it was this last fall on the Wasatch I would take that tag every year. I was hunting deer, but had at least a dozen bulls within 100 yards.

The Deep Creeks is no where near what it once was. In fact, its harvest age objective has been dropped big time. They are trying to get rid of most of the elk out there, and there isn't very many elk to begin with. I would go with the Wasatch, as there are loads of elk, and plenty of 330-350 bulls to locate.
