That was pretty cool. I remember when I was still in high school my dad and I went up to Joe's Valley and there was a 6x6 bull elk stuck on the ice. No one could get out on the ice to save him so someone ended up shooting him so he wouldn't suffer out there. Within two days he fell through the ice.

crazy, thanks for the link. Was surprised how 'sprawled' out they were (legs) on the ice.

Thanks for posting.

I'm surprised that they didn't use some kind of harness or wrap for the legs and just drag the deer across. I've seen a wounded deer kick and snap a live four inch diameter aspen clean in two. I would be nervous grabbing a deer by the legs and then draging it accross the ice. Those deer must have been worn out.

I wish the footage would have went a little longer. The first deer saved was obviously very afraid for its life. I wonder if the deer realized at any point that they wer being drug to safety or if they continued to think a predator was coming back to make lunch out of them?

Kudos to the ice suit man and his effort to save some wildlife.

That reminds me of some little guys that came into a frozen watering hole.. they stepped on the ice and slipped right on their bellies and sailed out into the pond about 15 or 20 ft and then fell through. Fortunately they could touch the bottom and where able to get out. They made quite a racket getting out. Here are a few pics of the drama. jdh
