Does anyone hunt with a .270 WSM?

I'm looking into getting a new rifle but want something that will knock down most any north american game but won't beat me up at the same time.
The more articles I read about the .270 short mag the more I think I want to go that route instead of getting a .300 mag.
Anyone have experience with this cartridge?

Good Luck!
A friend had just returned from Alaska where they as a group shot 7 moose. 6 of them with the 270WSM. I figured if it would kill an alaska moose. It would work on Mule Deer and Elk. I have shot numerous elk with my 270WSM. It has worked just fine. I load mine with a Barnes 140g TSX. One spike bull elk I shot entered at the base of the neck and exited just above the tail. Pretty much and end to end penetration.
I have also bought a 300 WSM. I shoot a Barnes 165g TSX in that caliber. I don't notice much difference in recoil between the two calibers. They both recoil harder than my old 25-06.
I can't speak intelligently about the .270 WSM but against many peoples advice this past season I bought myself a new savage model 114 american classic in the .325 WSM. I was told all sorts of b.s. about this rifle from............. I would be lucky to get a 4" 3 shot group @ 100 yds. It was overkill, it wasn't as good as it's comparable calibers such as .338.
Once I bought the rifle from all the negativity I almost turned right around and sold it before even shooting it. Needless to say that rifle is my number one rifle. It is big for deer and antelope but I really like this caliber. I from this point on will be the first to stand behind the WSM calibers.
P.S. the rifle shoots sub 3/4" groups @ 100
Having said that if i were going after anything bigger than elk personally I would go to something that throws bigger lead. Not that a well placed shot from a 270wsm wouldn't do the trick just my personal choice.
