downloading pictures

I'm having trouble adding a picture to my screen name. I resized a photo down to under 9.0 and then this is what it says "This file cannot be displayed because the extension bmp is not allowed"
I'm not sure what that means.

that is the extension of the file bmp which won't work. If you can save it out as a jpg file instead it will work fine. Or shoot me the pic in question via email and I'll fix it for you.
