i shoot a hoyt at 310fps with gold tip arrows and muzzy 125 grain tips. bow set at 64 lbs. Have yet to have an arrow stay in deer even out to 60 yards. elk different story though. does the job without having to go crazy with draw weight. used to shoot at 80 lbs on an old pse and it did just fine out at longer ranges but if i have to draw on a bull playing tricks on ya, ya get tired real quick. :))

I pull 67 pounds on my Hoyt. I shoot the Easton FMJ's and they weigh 440 grains.....at 60 yards into a hay bail the arrows it going about half way in or so....and they hit like a ton of bricks!

I shoot a Mathews Reezen at 65 Lbs, 29 DL, armed with Easton ST Epics. They weigh 440 Grns, launch at 275 fps, and I'm not worried about any pennetration issues. Accuracy is the main thing, of course.

I shoot a Bowtech Captain @ 54 pounds and 29 inches draw. I'm using Victory VAP 76/90 (Victory Armor Piercing) shafts with Blazers. At 35 yards they completely penetrate the carpet butts and hit the rubber mat on the back before they stop which is not good if you hit the metal uprights holding them. I think they will go completely through an elk with a Montec on them. At 55 yards they go to the fletching in my new broadhead target. I think this year looks good with an Az bull elk tag for september and an archery mule deer tag in Co. So far in the 3-D leagues this summer in the last 12 weeks I've placed 11 times and won money so I'm pretty excited that I'm shooting well, praise the Lord! I had to get a new bow and drop my draw weight due to spine problems (I'd get dizzy when I drew the heavy bow and my hand went numb). Good luck guys. God bless.

I have a bear lights out at 62lbs, 29 inch draw. I'm shooting CX Aramids 28" @ 350 grains, with 59 ft lbs of KE @ 277 fps I think I'm good to go. I like the grouping and they are supposed to be tough arrows. I'm 6' 1" 205lbs I have bad shoulders so 62lbs is plenty.
