Well it looks like I'm headed to the great state of Montana this fall to chase some bulls and muleys around with the new bow. I just purchased the new Elite gt500 from Elite archery. All I can say is holy smoke!! I have been shooting an AR 34 and I really loved it. I shot the Elite , 82nd and the captain last night and came home with the GT500. Once i set it up with a spot hogg 7 pin, s coil stablizer, ultra rest hd this bow is cranking 5575 gold tip hunters at 310 through the chrono with 100 grain broadheads!!! It is set at 70.22lbs with a 29" draw. The smoothest bow I have shot ever!! The pull is smooth, there is absolutley no cam lean, and it is super fast and super quite!! I am excited about the bow. If your looking for a new bow this year make sure you shoot this bow.

Putting in for the elkhorns for the bull tag and then for mule deer in unit 4.

If you want to draw out those are about the worst odds in the state for elk, much better areas with better odds near Fort Peck.

I know the elk tag is almost impossible for a few years but with a combo tag I have hunted around Ennis and have been in bulls that would go 330-400. A friend of mine killed a 320 5 point last year with his bow in that general area. I guess it really doesn't matter to me. I think our general hole is as good as a premium area at the moment. We'll see this year. Thanks for the advice. Have you ever hunted around the Bob Marshall area? Looking at a unit around there for mule deer.

yEP,you have to go in from the west side, all of the east side is a game preserve,if you have horses its a good hunt.

Good luck Nonya!! I also drew a tag....I am looking at hunting the UL Bend Wilderness area. Has anyone had any luck in the UL Bend? An elk in the 300-325" would more than suffice for my first archery elk hunt in Montana. I am not looking for anyone's hot spot...just curious as to the hunting pressure and numbers of elk. Any info would be greatly appreciated.
