Elevation?

I do the majority of my shed antler hunting in Northern Utah where i live and have a couple private land parcels that i shed hunt but also have a couple public land areas in mind that i have either never shed antler hunted there before or did but with little success. Anyway my question is if any of you shed hunt in Northern Utah? If so What elevations do you seem to find the majority of your sheds at? Any Information is Greatly Appreciated. Thanks :)

Thanks for the reply 500mag. Is there really like no one on this forum that shed hunts northern Utah or is everyone just being tight lipped about the Elevation they find most of there sheds. I'm not asking for the Address to your Honey hole or anything just curious as to what elevations everyone finds the majority of there mule deer and elk sheds. just for an idea as to where to look if and when i scout out new spots? any info is greatly appreciated thanks.

i dont think too many do much up here, and right now this topic as not to active. The best thing you can do is try and see where they are the end of january, and feb. that has helped me the most. or you just need to try it and see whats there

I have never hunted Utah for sheds but in Nevada i go out every year and do very well. In NV there really is no set elevation that the deer lose their sheds, it all depends on how much snow there is in January and Febuary. The less snow there is the high up the mountain they will be. A key in this state is to hunt the south facing slopes as these are the first to have the snow melt off and first areas to get green up. Hope this helps

Where are abouts are you?
I hunt Northern.. It all depends on the year and snowfall
Some years I find alot of elk sheds at around 6,000 feet and some years they are 5200. the last few years deer have been real high, because the snow fall was so little. Moose well snow doesnt bother them.. I had a buddy find moose sheds at 10,000 feet. couldnt believe it.
Good luck.. Best advise: Start glassing them and watch till they drop
