Elevation for Wasatch Front after snow sets in

For all you Wasatch Front guys...

Last year I hunted with a family member in the hills behind Little Cottonwood Canyon ... I think :-k

It was the week of Thanksgiving and there was moderate snow. We hiked all the way to the top and saw a few deer, but couldnt get on anything.

The foothills behind the homes were loaded with hunters. I watched three separate hunters take multiple shots at the same forkie over the course of about three ridges.

I am curious as to what elevation the deer are at during this time? Are they in the rut yet, or is it still to early?

I am headed up to help that same family member get a deer over the Thanksgiving holiday and was curious what elevation we should be concentrating our efforts. Thanks in advance

Around Thanksgiving is usualy the best time to hunt. More times than not the rut is in mid to late November. As far as elevation you will just have to see where the snow if any has pushed them to.

Good luck.
