antero trout , maybe one of the best trout lakes in the state before it was drained .

Why did they drain the lake?

about three years ago there was a huge forest fire named the haymen fire . cheesemen reservoir was at about 35% full after the fire was put out . so the decesion was to drain antero to help fill up cheesemen so that the ash and soot where not too bad there .
