Odds are better for archery tags, but with 3 points your odds stink for that to. I would put in for an unit you are familiar with, or live close to, with the weapon type you feel most comfortable with, and hope for lady luck to smile upon you.

The management tags will be easier to draw I suspect in 2008 than this 2007 since successful applicants will now lose their points like other LE tag holders. If harvesting a smaller bull or busted bull is something you want to do, this may be your best odds of drawing.

Good luck!

If you can draw the Limited Entry tag, and you go hunt, you will get a bull elk. But with 3 points it's hard to draw. So many people with 13-14 points.

I'd look at the odd and see which units have fewer applicants. Your chances are better in a unit where odds are 10-1 versus the high demand units where your odds may be 50-1.

Just about any Limited Entry unit in the state will produce a 330-350 class bull. Getting drawn in the premium units that are producing the 400 class bulls is harder. Pick a unit that doesn't have as many applicants as other units and one that is kinda close to home, so that you can spend some time scouting and learning the unit.

I agree with Pro the management tags are going to be a little easier to draw this year. These tags are a great option for hunters with low points that want a low pressure hunt without the trophy animal. It still may take a few years to draw a managment tag. The DWR shuffled the deck this year with the fee increases and the need to buy a hunting license before applying this year. I think all the drawing odds will be better this year .

I talked to the DWR and they said if you do a management hunt and harvest a animal you lose all your points and you cant draw again for at least five years so ill probly hold out for a good bull :1

This is why it should be much easier to draw a management tag this year.
