That sucks bad! What would you think if your just going up the canyon and a elk lands on your car???

sounds like they may need to fence that section.

Sounds to me like they have it fenced, but they managed to get through it somehow. I think they should slap that driver with anything and everything they can. Reckless driving, animal cruelty, public endangerment, etc... He said he didnt feel bad about it, but i wonder how he would feel if one of those elk had landed on a car injuring and possibly killing someone. Just an unfortunate accident that could have been avoided, both by a better fence and some better judgment on the drivers part.

The only fence that they have in that part of the canyon is the four foot tall six inch square fence. I think that the best way to keep this from happening again would be to put a big heavy duty fence between the roads to keep them from jumping again. If you fence the sides sooner of later they will get through the fence then they are truley trapped in harms way. I also hope that this driver gets charged with something.

Officers say they did track down the driver of the SUV and said he acted like he did nothing wrong.

"He didn't show any interest or remorse in the situation just kind of attitude of they were in the way," said Karren.

Absolutely pitiful.
