Elk Hunting Spots First Come?

How does it work if ppl are fighting over a good spot to hunt or whats the old rule everyone goes by? hehehe

First one there in the morning?

Put up blinds day before and claim your spot?

Kind of new so I'm not sure what is the right way :)

lots of different situations can dictate the "right" thing to do.

first off, nobody "owns" public lands, if all things are equal, i'd say first come first serve.
also, i dont believe a person owns rights to a water whole just because they put up a treestand in june. If i walk to the waterhole and see someone there- i'll keep moving on, if your not there, i might sit down on the ground and hunt it myself- I wouldn't use somebody elses stand.

BUT - If someone was polite enough to envite you to go hunting with them, in THEIR area, I would ABSOLUTLY never go back to their spot without them taking me again or them telling me to go there. in that situation- i wouldn't have found it if they hadn't been polite enough to show it to me, the LEAST i could do is be polite enough not to pressure it any more for them.

I think most hunters know what the right thing to do in their situation, But sometimes Greed overpowers ethics :>/
