Elk on the South Slope - Yellowstone area

Where all the cows at? I have a muzzleloader cow tag and my hunts going from now until 11/6 but all I've seen are bulls working their way down due to the snow. I saw a lot of deer so I don't think I was too high but maybe most elk booked it out of there or are still hanging higher (I was around 8,000 - 9,000 feet).
I was up near Kamas, Woodland, and Hanna but saw no cows! The bulls I saw were taking easy routes along flat but aspen/pine mix benches and one was down in the river bottoms.
Anyone willing to tell me where you've seen cows recently? I can't get back out until after Halloween but I can hunt anywhere from Hanna to Lapoint on the south slope. Hopefully, my tips on the bulls will lead some of you to them.
