in the middle of december i counted around 400 elk out of the 400 5 of them where wrag horns 7 of them where younger bulls all of these in one heard it isnt looking good for the south slope.

400 head?Theres at least one bachelor group of mature bulls hiding in a hole not too far away,the big bulls leave the large herds right after the rut.

i agree with nonya- this time of year there shouldn't be any big bulls with the herds those young bulls are still following moma around and the raghorns are just stickin with the numbers for safety.
