That's it. It's over. Only about 260 days until next season!
Cooper with the final retrieve of the day (and the season)...

Once again, the edge of the field was where the fresh goose poop was so we set up there again... if you set up on goose poop, you're gonna kill geese!

Those trees and that weedy fence line sure make it an easy hide...

If you know where the geese want to be and you set up on the goose poo, you will kill them!
This year we only had one field to hunt so we made sure to not over-hunt it.
We hunted it once a week, we only shot at flocks of 8 or less, and made sure we had a good hide. A small spread of 3 to 4 dz full body decoys was all we needed for this spot.
It was a great way to end the season.
congrats on a successful season, not much is better than having those suckers locked up and coming in 10sign:

Yesterday one tried to fly off as he got to it. He literally jumped for it and caught it in mid air on a dead run. He's a pretty aggressive goose dog! And considering he almost died last September, it makes it even more special to watch him work.
I also took a few minutes yesterday to scatter some of Oscars ashes in the decoy spread. He would have made a great goose dog too. We'll hunt with him again next year at the same location.
Great way to end the season...
